The data of the survey have been published by ItaliaFintech relating to the first quarter of 2022 on loans to SMEs and the number of companies that have had access to credit, thanks to Fintech. From 2020 to today they have more than quadrupled, recording 1.1 billion euros of loans to businesses (4.7x compared to January-March 2020) with a strong increase also in the number of companies financed (4.4x compared to January-March 2020), which went from 676 in the first three months of 2020 to 2,987 in the same period of 2022.
“This result confirms the growth trend that the sector has already demonstrated in previous years. In these two years, the demand for credit has naturally favored fintech channels, capable by their very nature of offering customers immediate and easy-to-access responses thanks to digital channels. – declares Sergio Zocchi, President of ItaliaFintech – It is undoubtedly a further step forward for Italy to establish itself as a Start-up Nation. In this context, in fact, Fintech is taking on an increasingly important role as an accelerator of innovation, also in partnership with traditional financial operators “.
